Why Teeth Grinding In Children Should Be Addressed

The sound of something squeaking wakes you from your slumber and it comes from your child’s room. Naturally, you get up to find out what is making this sound and as you enter the room of your child you find out that the sound is coming from the teeth grinding your child is currently doing. Your initial reaction is to try and stop your child from grinding his teeth, but then, you realize that you don’t want to wake him up which puts you in a tight spot of not knowing what’s best for your child. A Paediatric dentist who also knew much about teeth whitening and Paediatric dentistry provided the following information.

If your child suffers from bruxism, the last thing you should do is panic, teeth grinding in children is quite common and is something that has been successfully treated over the years. Children aged 5-7 have a larger risk of acquiring this disorder because of new teeth growth, and most of them outgrow the condition after a few years. But, there are some who tend to bring it with them as they age, the reason for which is unknown- but it is a fact that people deal with until today. The irony about a common condition such as teeth grinding in children, doctors are still insure about the certain causes of this oral problem. Although most cases have been effectively treated, there are some that have persisted over the years.

So what should you do when you find out your child is a victim of bruxism? Once you learn about it, visit your dentist, he knows your mouth more than you do and will know how to treat the condition. Have your child’s teeth checked, because teeth grinding in children is commonly caused by misaligned teeth. Because of this abnormal growth, some teeth do not match one another. As an effect, children clench their jaws and grind their teeth. Teeth grinding in children can potentially cause harm on the enamel of a child’s teeth. If your child has nothing but milk teeth, enamel hurt is not much of a concern, but if the child has a excellent number of permanent teeth in place, it would be recommended to pay a visit the dentist.

The facts behind teeth grinding in children might not be backed up by research but this disorder has been dealt with successfully. This is why the advise of a trained professional is vital.

Do You Need Online Health Information?

Twenty or more years ago people who travel overseas on business didn’t have to get worry about too many diseases when visiting the major cities of Asia.  Yet, with outbreak of H5N1 in many countries not so long ago among other locales, hepatitis in its various forms cropping up just about everywhere in the region, and a host of other potential problems, ignorance is no longer an option.

A further concern, though, is get trustable and up-to-date information on short notice.  With the dengue fever outbreak in SE Asia, for instance, news from that city may varied from day to day.  Travelers should also well considering tight-lipped officials in any area that is caught up in a medical crisis, and information quickly graduates to disinformation.

Granted, the chances of a visitor contracting the dengue fever are limited, but an ounce of prevention…

With the internet that is going better and better, a phenomenon that only now is taking off around Asia, comes several do-it-yourself options for anyone tapped into the information and communication network.  A number of secondary sites offer some medical background, though the following three are well-grounded for almost any situation you might encounter around Asia, despite the fact that all are based in the United States.

If you can not find a knowledgeable doctor, probably the best option would be to head to the same source as a doctor would.  Only in this situation, that means a site called Shoreland’s Travel Health Online.  The online service has been available since more than 20 years ago and, to date, has mainly acted as a resource for doctors, though this access is freely opened to the public.

Shoreland offers information on 230 countries broken down into four sections: country profiles, health concerns, preventative measures and travel illness summaries.  This information is gathered from the US State Department, the Centers for Diseases Control, the World Health Organization and a few other sources.  As such, it is deliberately aimed at American though, simply by the nature of the beast, the internet has brought down borders.

If the Shoreland site doesn’t fulfill your need, more specific information is available at a website offered by the Atlanta-based Centers for Diseases Control.   This CDC’s site at least overcomes the time lag problem by issuing a briefer update called “The Blue Sheet”.  Reviewing Avian Flu-infected areas in Asia, The Blue Sheet simply provides a list of countries, one that has been updated only days before.  That information is helpful as long as you also have access to precautionary measures, information that is available elsewhere on the center’s site if you’re willing to search.

You may also visit the World Health Organization’s site (‘who dot ch’).  This home page contains a section about international health and travel which running in several languages.

Which one of the three health-concern sites you choose is up to you.  But bear in mind one important thing for you when you’ve decided to leave your KWN321 at home this winter to go on holiday in Asia, besides walking down the street with your Samsonite Xspace is not forget to observing all the information on the sites above.  If you decided to come along with your baby, a reliable baby monitor like the Motorola MBP36 may also be helpful.
